Self Esteem and Success

When you observe successful people you see they possess many different traits. One of those is self esteem. Have you ever wondered how it is possible to have self-esteem when everything around you seems to be going bad. In this article we will look at some of the things that can affect your self-esteem and how you can overcome them to become a more successful person.

If you have a job it is easy to become affected negatively by those around you. There are many different types of people in the work environment, including people who complain, people who’ll stab you in the back, brown nosers others who will do anything to get ahead, people who will never stop whining, and so on.

If you are not careful you can find yourself becoming just like them. It is important that you understand where your life is headed regardless of any problems you currently have. Having a positive self-esteem is important to you in your efforts to control how you act around negative people.

Another thing that can really affect your self esteem is everything that is going on in the world. Many successful people will tell you they do not watch the news or pay much attention to what is going on outside of their immediate lives.

This is important because the news as it is reported today constantly hypes all of the bad that is going on. Even in a story that is predominantly good the angle will be slanted toward the bad side of it. Reading a newspaper every day, or watching television, can affect your self-image because of all the negative you hear and see.

Another thing that can affect your self esteem is something that is happened to you in the past. It is important that you are able to develop your life and get beyond something that negatively happen to you. If you continue to do well on things that you can no longer control in your past. You will have a hard time becoming successful in moving your life for work.

Some people will go so far as to take therapy classes, either individually or in groups. Depending on what you are dealing with it is important that you somehow determine this will no longer affect your life and then move forward.

In summary your self esteem does affect how successful you will become. To become a more positive person and view yourself worthy of success, you must control how you deal with negativity and how you think.

“I will persist until I succeed. I was not delivered unto this world in defeat, nor does failure course in my veins. I am not a sheep waiting to be prodded by my shepherd. I am a lion and I refuse to talk, to walk, or to sleep with the sheep. I will hear not those who weep and complain, for their disease is contagious. Let them join the sheep. The slaughterhouse of failure is NOT in my destiny!”

    Awesome post Damon!

Self esteem really is a major factor of your success, and everything you do in life. I enjoyed your quote: “I AM a lion and I refuse to talk, walk or sleep with sheep.”

Too many people do exactly what everybody else wants them to, and that is the sure path to the “slaughterhouse of failure”.

    Powerful words my friend.

    Hey Damon

I really agree with your statement regarding TV. I have stopped watching the news as it would be so dramatic my mind would be filled with so much sadness. I realize that this helps nobody. I now focus on sending out as much positive vibration and spend my time educating myself and my kids. Life is better without TV.
    Thanks

    Hey Damon,

I like your post. Many of us have self-limiting beliefs because of something that happened to us in the past or words people said to us when we were younger. I like to call these ‘crumplebuttons’. If a teacher tells a kid they are stupid and cant do Math then after a while there starts to be a self-fulfilling prophecy where the kid starts to believe that they will never be good at Math and so gives up.

I have a silly saying “don’t hand around with Lemons” Basically what I mean is, if we want to be successful we have to find other likeminded people who also want to achieve success, who want to be positive and free, and happy and joyful and passionate.

Self esteem can be easily put right when we hang around with the right people, do the things that make us smile and start looking inside ourselves instead of looking on the outside at the crazy world.

I look forward to reading more from you.

    Yours in Success

    Thanks everyone,

Throughout the years, I have come to realize that my success had a lot to do with how I was programmed. It took some personal development to get my mind on the path that it needed to be on. This is the reason that my first post on this blog was titled Are You Programmed For Internet Based Business Success…Or Failure? Self-esteem and personal development are essential for making you and your internet based business a success.

Are you able to truly make money just blogging? How does that work? Do you need to be actually popular and have plenty of readers, sponsors ( commercials ), and stuff?
